Plastic Soup Foundation

A completely renewed digital platform for Plastic Soup Foundation: from a new website and CMS migration to the development of a smart product scanner for iOS and Android. This project was in collaboration with Accenture.
1
Challenge

From an outdated digital landscape to a fast, scalable foundation

Plastic Soup Foundation wanted to modernise its digital platform. The existing WordPress website no longer reflected the organisation’s new visual identity, had become cumbersome due to its many plugins and required extensive technical maintenance. At the same time, valuable content needed to be preserved, while the existing product scanner had to be transformed into a smart, manageable app suitable for international use.

The main challenges:
  • Improve conversion and usability
  • Migrate more than 200 articles without losing their established SEO value
  • Simplify the navigation and improve the user experience
  • Translate the new visual identity into a fresh and accessible web design
  • Reduce dependency on WordPress plugins and technical maintenance
  • Improve website performance and measurability
  • Develop a scalable app capable of scanning and analysing products in multiple languages
2
Approach

A new website and smart app, built for growth

We designed a completely new website and migrated Plastic Soup Foundation from WordPress to Kooboo. The project focused on speed, usability, conversion and the careful migration of existing content while preserving its SEO value. At the same time, we developed a new mobile app that uses AI to automatically analyse product information.

Our approach included:
  • A new web design based on the renewed visual identity
  • Simplified navigation and conversion-focused U
  • Careful SEO migration of more than 200 articles
  • Migration from WordPress to a centrally managed Kooboo CMS
  • Improved analytics and performance tracking
  • Development of a new app for iOS and Android
  • Use of AI to analyse product information automatically and in multiple languages
  • A streamlined content management setup that reduces the need for developer support

Result

A faster, smarter and future-ready digital platform

Plastic Soup Foundation now has a renewed digital platform that better supports both the organisation and its ambitions. The website is faster, more user-friendly and easier to manage, while the existing content has been successfully incorporated into an improved structure. The new app has also largely automated a labour-intensive process and made it scalable for international use.

The results:
  • A faster and more stable website
  • A visual identity fully aligned with the organisation’s new branding
  • Simpler navigation and a better user experience
  • Successful migration of more than 200 articles
  • Less dependency on plugins and developers
  • Greater control over management and ongoing development
  • Improved tracking of website usage and conversions
  • An iOS and Android product scanner with multilingual analysis
  • Less manual work through automation and AI
  • A scalable foundation for continued digital growth
